Making Fun Of People - In Adam’s Words

Posted in Stuff on March 29, 2008 by ζÔ§Η

Ello there!

Just a note: Remember to enter the Widget Contest!  It is ending soon!

Storybuilder is a huge success!

We have passed 6,000 hits and on Thursday (or Wednesday) we reached 200 hits!  w00t!  Thankyou for visitng, keep it up!

The Header Shop is set to be released on Monday, with awesome features.

I think it’s important to listen to not just one voice, but many voices.  So I have decided today to post what Adam posted a few weeks ago.  This is an extract from his post “Deep Stuff

If you don’t like someone in your school, do you make fun of them? Do you laugh at them with your friends? Do you attempt to be friendly with them or do you just automatically reject their personality or style? Many of these things you and I may do, but is it correct?
If a kid has dandruff (the bad kind) and starts itching his head a foot way from you, do you say, “Stop making it snow!”? Do you laugh at their dry scalp problems?
If a kid is poor and hasn’t gotten new shoes in 2 years, do you wear expansive brands (for example: Abercrombie, American Eagle, or Aeropatle) just to gloat in their face?
If a kid has a mental problem or is just a little slow, do you snicker behind their backs? Or did you try to become their friend?
What if that kid was you and you didn’t have any friends. Would you cry or just keep doing what they dislike just to annoy them?
I have a light case of dandruff and a dry scalp. People just recently found out and already are treating me differently. Before I found out I had dandruff two days ago, I laughed at a person for “making a blizzard”. I didn’t make fun of him, but when others did, I just laughed to myself. I wear Abercrombie and American Eagle for style and comfort, not to make people jealous. In fifth grade, I kid came to our school. He was and still is a little slow, but I was friendly with him. My reasons for attempting to be his friend were: he seemed nice, nobody was talking to him, and the most important: his smile made me happy. When he came I was jumping rope with my friends. He joined us. While he was jumping, he was laughing and having a wonderful time. When I saw his smile, I suddenly had a feeling of pure joy because I was sharing it with him. He turned out to reject my friendship and now we only talk when he decides we should, thats part of his mental issue, he cannot have friends.
So next time you see someone with a problem of any sort, don’t be as mean as you can possibly be. If you must be rude to them, do it quietly to yourself in your head so nobody else is disturbed.
A great post, but I think there was more Adam could post about, but bravo Adam!!!
Have a great weekend!  April Fools’ is coming up too.  I don’t think I’ll be able to post on April Fools’ Day, so I might play a trick early…

The Story Of Easter :: Part Two

Posted in Stuff on March 23, 2008 by ζÔ§Η

Ello there!

Today is Easter Sunday (well in Australia at least, lol).  My other Easter Post has caused alot of discussion, which is good in a way, but I would much prefer it if you actually said your opinions, like Olly, rather than say I don’t believe any of this mumbo jumbo, like Ritetub.  And if you think my posts are too long, think about it - I’m doing you a favour.  Lol.

This is the story of Easter, Part Two, according to Matthew, Chapter 28 (English Standard Bible) from biblegateway.com

The Resurrection

1(A) Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and(B) the other Mary went to see the tomb. 2And behold, there was a great earthquake, for(C) an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3(D) His appearance was like lightning, and(E) his clothing white as snow. 4And for fear of him the guards trembled and(F) became like dead men. 5But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6He is not here, for he has risen,(G) as he said. Come, see the place where he[a] lay. 7Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold,(H) he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.” 8So they departed quickly from the tomb(I) with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9And behold, Jesus(J) met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and(K) took hold of his feet and(L) worshiped him. 10Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid;(M) go and tell(N) my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”

The Report of the Guard

11While they were going, behold, some of(O) the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place. 12And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers 13and said, “Tell people,(P) ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14And if this comes to(Q) the governor’s ears, we will(R) satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” 15So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews(S) to this day.

The Great Commission

16Now the eleven disciples(T) went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17And when they saw him they(U) worshiped him, but some doubted. 18And Jesus came and said to them, (V) “All authority(W) in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19(X) Go therefore and(Y) make disciples of(Z) all nations,(AA) baptizing them(AB) in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them(AC) to observe all that(AD) I have commanded you. And behold,(AE) I am with you always, to(AF) the end of the age.”

It may be a bit hard to understand, but if you put it together with the other post, itshould make some sense (though the other post was from another source, so they will vary)

The Fun and Games pages, which some of you discovered, are not ready yet, so I have set them to Private Pages until they are ready for you to use.

Have a great Easter.

Feel free to use the Easter Story!

The Story Of Easter :: Part One

Posted in Stuff on March 20, 2008 by ζÔ§Η

Hiyo!

Camp rocked lol!!!  Just to point some things out in the comments i=on my last post that didn’t make sense.

BLINKY => Erhem.  40 degrees Celsius is alot lol.

RITETUB => It’s already Autumn in Australia…

AGUAIR => Why do you say my post about promises is random?!?!?

MOHD => I’m Josh, NOT FYLLIPER, and why are you telling me to come back…I clearly said I was on camp.

ADAM => I thought you lived in Northern America.  Lol.

Which hints to me that Aguair, Mohd and others are just commenting on my posts and not reading them.  My post aboiut promises wasn’t random.  And I did say I was on camp.  *rolls eyes*

Anyways, tomorrow is Good Friday.  I am a Christian, so I thought I would share the story of Easter with you.  This is just half the story - I will continue the story on Saturday or Sunday.

The story is courtesy of our good friends at http://www.longlongtimeago.com/llta_festival_easter.html

More than two thousand years ago, in a stable in Bethlehem, was born Jesus, the son of Joseph the carpenter and his wife Mary. Jesus grew up in Nazareth, and became a carpenter like his father.

When Jesus was a young man, he saw the suffering of the people of Palestine under the oppressive rule of Herod’s sons, and the Roman procurators. Together with twelve disciples, Jesus wandered the countryside, preaching religious reform and the love of God for His people. He was concerned with the welfare of the poor and the oppressed and spoke against the hypocrisy of the privileged and the rich. The Pharisees, Jewish scholars, strongly opposed his teachings, and resented his growing influence. But Jesus was welcomed and loved by the common people who looked upon him as the long-awaited Messiah. As the number of his followers and his influence with the people grew, the Jewish and Roman authorities began to suspect Jesus of being a revolutionary and a troublemaker.

Jesus faithfully observed the religious customs and festivals of his community, including the festival of Passover, which marked the end of slavery in Egypt for his people. So it happened that one year Jesus decided to go to Jerusalem to celebrate Passover.

As he entered Jerusalem, the people welcomed him with songs of praise. They covered his path with flowers, and waved green palm fronds in the air, and formed a great procession to lead him into Jerusalem. The Pharisees were afraid and angry when they saw the welcome he received from the people of Jerusalem. Jesus went to the Temple in Jerusalem, where he drove out the moneylenders. This annoyed the priests further. They decided that the time had come to rid themselves of this carpenter’s son from Nazareth, who wielded such tremendous power over the hearts of the people. The Pharisees, the priests and the Romans plotted to arrest and execute Jesus.

A few days later, Jesus celebrated the Feast of the Passover with his twelve disciples. While they were eating, the disciples began to argue among themselves as to who was better than the others. Jesus listened in silence, and then taking a basin of water, began washing the feet of his disciples. When he came to his disciple Peter, Peter protested. But Jesus explained why he did what he did - to tell them that no one was better than the other, that if he, whom they called Lord and Master, could wash their feet, then they too could wash each other’s feet.

Jesus then told his disciples, that before the night was out, one of them would betray him, and give him up to those who would kill him. The disciples were horrified, and asked Jesus to tell them who it was who would turn traitor. But Jesus only said that it was one of the twelve who ate with him that night.

The disciple John, who was sitting next to Jesus, whispered so that no one else could hear, ‘Lord, who is it?’ Jesus whispered back so only John could hear, ‘It is the one to whom I shall give a piece of bread after I have dipped it in the dish.’ Then Jesus reached across the table and gave the bread to his disciple Judas Iscariot.

Judas left the table at once, and as he went, Jesus said to him, ‘Do quickly what you have to do.’

Before the meal was over that night, Jesus took some of the unleavened bread of the feast and broke it into pieces. He gave a piece each to the eleven remaining disciples, saying ‘Take and eat this, for this is my body which is given for you.’ He then passed a cup of watered wine to them and said, ‘Drink, for this is my blood which is shed for thee.’ Then Jesus commanded, ‘Do this as often as you would remember me.’

Jesus spent the rest of the night praying in a grove of olive trees, called the garden of Gethsemane. He knew that when morning came, Judas Iscariot would betray him.

Judas had hurried to the High Priest of the Temple as soon as he left Jesus and the other disciples. Judas had agreed to betray Jesus for the sum of thirty pieces of silver. When it was almost dawn, he led the High Priest and the Pharisees and the Roman soldiers to the grove where Jesus waited with his remaining disciples. So that the Roman soldiers would arrest the right person, Judas ran up to Jesus and embraced him.

Jesus was taken to the home of the High Priest where the priests demanded that he be killed. But the land was ruled by the Romans, and no one could be executed without their sanction. So Jesus was led to Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor. Pilate questioned Jesus, and then declared he could not sentence him for he saw no evil in him. But the priests and the Pharisees insisted that Jesus was a troublemaker, and should be put to death. So Pilate sent Jesus to King Herod, who ruled Galilee from where Jesus came. But Herod too could find no evil in Jesus, and sent him back to Pilate.

Once again Pilate said to the enemies of Jesus that he saw no reason to execute him, and that he should be set free. But Jesus’ enemies demanded that he be crucified. At length, Pilate gave in to their demands, and ruled that Jesus be put to death on the cross.

Jesus was crucified as a political rebel the very same day on a hill called Golgotha. When at length he died, his friends asked Pilate if they might take down his body, to give it proper burial. Pilate agreed. So Jesus’ followers took him down from the cross, and wrapped him in a shroud, and buried him in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea near Golgotha.

That Jesus was a real person, of that there is no doubt. But very little is known of his life, apart from what his followers told and wrote. It is therefore difficult to separate facts from belief while telling the story of Jesus.

To be continued…

A promise is a promise

Posted in Stuff on March 16, 2008 by ζÔ§Η

Heyaaaa

I leave for camp tomorrow and will be back on Thursday, have fun without me lol!

Jus t ashort deep post.

A promise is  a promise.  No matter what size, whether you promise your friend world peace or you promise your baby sister that you will play with her tomorrow, every promise is a promise.

Promises aren’t meant to be broken, they are meant to be kept.  But why do we make promises?

Do we make promises because we genuinely want to keep them and help others out or show we care?

Or do we make promises to make people happy.

If you make promises to make people happy, that’s good, but remember; a promise is a promise.  No matter what you promised, it must be kept under all circumstances.  Or else promises would just be another word in the dictionary.

Think about this next time you make a promise.  Why are you making tha tpromise - to show you care or to make others happy?  Which ever one, good job and I trust you will follow through with that promise.

That is all, lol.

I hope you have fun and don’t miss me while I’m gone, lol, an dI promise to have fun!

Header and Tagged =]

Posted in Stuff on March 15, 2008 by ζÔ§Η

Heyo

Lol..  The header that I made well the tabs block out the orange writing.  Lol.  And it took me sooooo long to make that header =[ =[ =[ =[

I will either change the theme or make a new header where the tabs don’t block it out.  Maybe that’s why I am not a fan of the Regulus theme.

Anyways I just found out I’ve been tagged!  Here we go!

I have just been tagged by Mooseluver8
~Fact Number 1: I am originally from Sri Lanka, a country near India (though I live in Melbourne, Australia)
~Fact Number 2: In 2007 my birthday was on Mother’s Day
~Fact Number 3: I have had 5 adult teeth removed, from my mouth…but no braces, though I think I might need plates soon.
~Fact Number 4: My name may be Josh (or Joshua…my real name…lol) but my 1 year old brother calls me Tchuay (pronounced Choo-ay)…lol
~Fact Number 5: Iam totally scared of spiders, and any bug, even ants.  Every bug except butterflies and dragonflies (I think they are cute!!!)
I Tag..
  • Olly
  • Mark
  • Aguair
  • Squishy
  • Blinky

Here are the Rules:

~You write who you’ve been tagged by.
~You write 5 facts about yourself.
~You pass it on to 5 people who you don’t think have been tagged yet.

So those five people who I tagged need to do what it says up there, in the rules.  I did it so you should too, only if I tagged you.  Lol.
