Helping - Why???

How are you all doing? Good, I suppose?
Well, listen, I haven’t written a deep post in ages, so I’m going to write one now.

Without those stupid Club Penguin Blogs, I probably would’nt know any of the people I now know through WordPress.
People are constantly asked why they actually have a blog about a stupid game like Club Penguin. Their response: To help others.
To help others HOW exactly?
By giving away secrets? I’m pretty sure secrets are put in games to be discovered by individuals. Not spread everywhere. Hence the word “secrets”.
Sharing hacks? Hacking is illegal, and it is appalling that children hack games when they are so young. The hackers of Club Penguin today are the criminals of tomorrow.
Becoming famous? On a game where you are a tiny avatar of a penguin???
Making videos…and posting them on Youtube to get famous?
I’ve said this alot, you can’t get famous on a game.
But back to the point, why do you help?
You say you want to help, this could relate to anything, and you do (or at least I hope you do), but think about this for a moment. Why do you help?
Do you help to get recognition for it, or do you help because it is the right thing to do?

It depends upon your motivation. Sometimes you are enlisted to help others. Meaning, either it is your profession to help others (i.e. police officer, fireman, dr. etc). or you are asked to help because you have specific qualities that lend to completing the task. Other times you help simply becuase you are in the right place at the right time and you feel compelled to help. Such as, if you come upon an accident of some kind. Helping at the scene of a car crash or something of similar nature. You may have the desire to help simply for the satisfaction of wanting to be part of a team effort and seeing a positvie end result. Like restoring a historic site, cleaning up a park, a community or church function to raise money to help people, animals, structures, etc. Then there is always helping for no other reason other than it is the right thing to do irregardless if you are recognized for your part in the effort. End result, for whatever reason that moves you to help, one always gains in self and public respect.
I have never understood the reasoning behind hacking. I believe there are those who are convinced it makes them look as if they are so much more smarter for it. Anyone anyone can steal, cheat and lie. A smarter person doesn’t. Like anything commercial, Club Penguin is just caught in the cross fire. Everything and anything has it’s good and bad components. One of the more unpopular theories is, if you benefit from it and other’s don’t, it isn’t a good thing. For instance, having a Cp wordpress. For some reason a blog brings out the worst in some people. It seems to give them a sense of power. Possilby it is their only opportunity to be something they cannot be in their day to day life. One may strive to be famous, but the word famous has many definitions. There is also various degrees of fame; and everyone knows fame is fleeting.

Yes, you have brought this up many times before. I especially remember you asked a series of questions about Club Penguin blogging before you deleted your old site.
I just can’t be bothered to talk about Club Penguin blogs and questioning them. I don’t care about them. They will all stop sooner or later.

If someone asked me “Why”, I actually wouldn’t say “To help others”. I’d be lying. I got into this because I thought it would be fun- and boy, was I right. I absolutley LOVE blogging. It’s not to help others- although I hope I’m at least helping someone in the process. It’s to have fun and make friends.

My answer would be “it’s fun”. Blogging, making videos, posting about Club Penguin its all FUN for me. I love blogging, I love making videos! Thats why I do it. Well also to help others…. actually not. I must admit I made my blog cos I thought it would have been fun, and it is.

The rhetoric about Club Penquin possilby masked what I believe to be the real intent of this post, to answer the question about ‘WHY WE HELP’.

I didn’t neccessarily make a CP blog to help others, though I am glad if I do help them in any way. I made a Club Penguin blog because I am a fan of Club Penguin, as it says on my site :”club penguin fan site.” Mostly the reason for making my blog was because I wanted to meet other CP fans, and just plain chat about anything. I also have a hard time understanding why people hack..I guess I can understand the “brief glory” they might feel on maybe getting free items and ect., but it is completely wrong. Do I do it to become famous at all? Simple answer: No. But I guess you have to define “famous” to a certain extent. If it was to be famous for making cool vids, or just having a bunch of hits on my site, NO. In an entirely different way of being “known,” I would love to be known on wordpress and club penguin for being nice, and as helpful as I can. I don’t care about being famous, at all. And that is the truth. If I did, I would visit more blogs daily, have more stuff on my site, and there would be HUGE changes. But that isn’t important to me, at all. I hope everyone has seen that through me, and my site! And once again Josh, an excellent “deep” post!

Nice post…..Semi-Deep this time…but still good…It’s bringing out much discussion..
Anyway…the name of my site is “Club Penguin HELP Desk”, which actually (Surprisingly too!) reflects why I created it. When I first joined CP, I wanted to know more about its past and stuff that happened before I joined…so as I typically do with things, I googled it! I found a blog (Gosh, who know’s who’s it was! It was sooo long ago now) and I had a peep. Interesting I though….So I searched through more blogs ’till I found some faves. I looked at them lots, and learned that other people loved CP like me. I wanted to know them better, and I wanted to do what other bloggers were doing, helping others with CP stuff.
So I started a wordpress, titled “Club Penguin Help Desk” and started to post stuff. It was fun, I loved it. I met soo many people, made friends, threw pies, and hopefully helped at least someone. Blogging was fun for me…another way for me to escape reality…
Lately, I can’t find the time - I’m in yr 10 now… and I’ve seen heaps of people come and go from blogging. I miss them all, in an odd way. And I became friends with them (Even though we only knew eachother as names on a website and colourful penguins in clothes…). We talked, blogged etc. And I didn’t make friends with the because they were famous…I made friends with them because they helped me. I love trying to help people, and I don’t do it for fame. Sure, part of it is for personal gain, but not for fame. Its for gaining friends, fun, knowledge and virtual pie…
Somtimes people try and make themselves famous through helping others…when all they want is someone to see them and go “OMG! It’s __Insert Name Here__, they’re sooo cool ’cause they have a CP wordpress…..I wish I was them”, but that’s stupid and weird. Sometimes people are labelled as famous, or fame hoggers when they didn’t want to be famous at all….they just set out to help others.
You can’t make yourself famous.
“Fame isn’t what you make your self, its what others make of you.”
So try and help someone today, wether it’s through a CP post, making someone smile, giving a virtual pie or helping someone out. Help is one of the most powerful gifts you can give. It bridges gaps between people…creates friendships.

Finally, “kids” as you put it …develope skills now to become what they will be tommorow. In my comment I was projecting. However, here again, “kids” can help in the event of an accident, help rehabilitate an historic site, or clean up a park, etc. I do it all the time through church and various organizatons I belong to. However I see your point. I believe there are too many age and maturity levels in which we are dealing with here. I will try to remember that.

The latter. Completely. Besides knowing that you are actually doing good in the world, there also comes a very good and nice feeling knowing that you have helped someone. That is why I love it when like people anonomously(spelling?) give to charities, or people. It is truly awesome to be a silent, selfless giver.

We know its not about blogs, but we are using them as examples too!
I think people really need to realise that helping is somthing you have to want to do, to well…Help! People that try and do it for the fame wont succeed. It just doesn’t work like that. People relate to others that are nice to them. If you are rude and famous then people won’t like you….and chances are you won’t be famous much longer.
That brings me to a point….How do we define famous? Where do we draw the line between Famous and Non-Famous…..?

It’s Kmam… I do get your point… 4 sum reason wordpress is about being “Famouse” and piczo is to be “populer” Yup… Some of my friends say i am “populer” because I am kinda rare,but not much… well thats cuz they joined rlly late… so…. You can be famouse or populer on clubpenguin, you can, but it’s not rlly worth it… I am into making webshows now, I am not trying to be famouse on youtube I just want my cp budds to see what I rlly look like, plus it’s rlly a fun expeirience! Yes, even tho I have speech promblems and I talk funny, I still wanna have fun. no *sniff* they kicked me out of la la land. and i am siding with zipo on this. It seems like people on the edge of their nerves on each other and wordpress is not becoming as popular anymore so most sites will close down. WordPress, Myspace, Youtube, And WordPress are fads right now but soon like most fads they will die away then there will come more fads and more and more…etc. Until the country goes into Economic Depression and internet shuts down.Get Fresh Air and think things over then come back to fix your daily troubles and let the lord keep you on track for the rest of you days (no reference to ANYONE just a quote from some person i dont know who but still a quote anyway) Man i wish we had politicians like FDR and Churchill. Alright, finally done! (I read all of them
) I do NOT know how this post got people into talking about CP blogs. Sure you WANT one to be famous, but there is NO point. It’s really stupid how Hollagurl25 or Chewit Dude or whoever created the CP word, “Famous” No I do not play anymore, I quit about, I have no idea, I quit in 2007 in, June something, but I started in late December of 2007. I mean, I had a blog, I was well known, and to be honest, I don’t care if you think I am lying, but I shut my site down because of that. Go ahead, say “Ya right,” it’s not gonna bother me. It was http://proeor.wordpress.com, and it was titled, ‘Latest Cp News! Comin’ ‘Atcha with Proeor!’ and I have a new blog, it is just a header blog. A lot of CP(Or USED to)go there. And some still play CP. I just do it for the fun, ‘cuz I HATE making headers without ideas. I know NONE of you guys except for Muffin(Yay, cute little hamster!)and your probably wondering why I am here…I don’t know that either. Well, Seeya!

My grandpa had a hard time in school, so he finally had to just get his GED (general education diploma) and he is a very smart guy. He also used to be a Archeologist.

The whole point of my comment #96, was to point out what was conceived to be an apology. Somehow it became a focus of “spelling” and then moved into age grouping. Spelling is secondary and age just a number.

the reason i started a cp blog is because i thought it would be cool to share my experiences with new penguins,
like me, i was a penguin back in August, i was new, and i did not know about anything including rh,
thanks to hi Yo Guys and Watex, i began to learn more about cp, like when the pin comes out, when the newspaper came out…
WITHOUT CP BLOGS, I WOULD HAVE TROUBLE FINDING PINS, OR I WOULD NEVER LEARN HOW TO BE A SECRET AGENT, OR A TOUR GUIDE. I WOULD ALSO SADLY NEVER FIND ROCKHOPPER -TRUE FACT!-
